Grade Calculator
Two tools here: turn category scores and weights into your overall class grade, then find the exact score you need on the final to land the grade you want.
Weighted Grade
Grades 0 to 120 (extra credit counts), weights 0 to 100.

How Weighted Grades and Final Scores Work
Weighted grade
Most classes don't average every assignment equally. Homework might be 20% of your grade, quizzes 30%, tests 50%. Multiply each category's grade by its weight, add the results, and divide by the total weight. Example: 92 in homework (20%), 85 in quizzes (30%), 78 in tests (50%) gives 0.20 × 92 + 0.30 × 85 + 0.50 × 78 = 82.9%.
If the weights don't reach 100
Partway through a term, the graded categories might only cover part of the total. The calculator still averages what's graded so far, and flags it when the weights don't sum to 100, so you know you're looking at a snapshot rather than the final number.
Score needed on the final
The formula: needed = (target − current × (1 − weight)) ÷ weight, with the final's weight as a decimal. Sitting at 88% with a final worth 20% and aiming for 90%? needed = (90 − 88 × 0.8) ÷ 0.2 = 98. The calculator also tells you when the target is already locked in, and when no possible score would reach it, so you can plan instead of guess.
A note on rounding
Results show two decimals. Teachers round differently (some truncate, some round at .5), so treat an 89.96% as "talk to your teacher" territory rather than a guaranteed A. If the class grade feeds a GPA, the GPA calculator picks up where this one leaves off.
